It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was removed her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.
